Sandy Beach County Park is operated by Solano County. It lies on the Sacramento River in the California Delta and is an out-of-the-way, peaceful place to spend a few days, with the additional benefit of electrical and water hookups.

How to reach Sandy Beach County Park in Solana County, California

To reach Sandy Beach County Park from the east (Lodi/Interstate 5), the traveler takes California State Highway 12 west and continues several miles across Three Mile Bridge into Rio Vista. The county park is signposted from the highway and leads the driver round a tight, descending switchback into the edges of town on North Front Street. The switchback may be challenging for trailers and should be taken very slowly. From State Highway 12 east, North Front Street is a simple right turn.

The driver should make a right where feasible and then a left on 2nd Street. Some of the right-turns lead up steep hills and into downtown, so the driver should pick his route according to the size of his RV and his experience with small-town navigation. Larger RVs in particular may wish to avoid driving through the narrow streets of downtown Rio Vista.
